Team
Building
The work
environment has become increasingly
complex and requires the use of teams for optimal
performance. In addition to the benefits to
organizational performance, the use of work
teams increases employee satisfaction and
commitment. While the team approach has
many potential advantages, these benefits are
often unrealized because teams are often formed
without guidance, and must operate without the
benefit of formal team planning and
implementation. High performing teams are
not born, they are trained. Our targeted approach to
team building is customized to
your organization's specific needs and is based on
diagnostic and organizational data. |

Diagnostic Data
Collection
To
facilitate the team building process and leadership
training process, our consultants will request that
trainees provide us with data regarding team
operations and functioning.
Typically this information can be collected
through the use of paper and pencil surveys.
These surveys will be collected prior to
training delivery and results of the surveys will
provide the basis for group exercises.
Our consultants extensively utilize
both off-the-shelf instruments, such as the Myers
Briggs Type Indicator, and the 16PF, as well as custom
designed questionnaires. The diagnostic information gathered will also
serve as the basis for exercises designed to make team
members aware of their own characteristics and
how those characteristics impact team performance.
Training
Delivery
Strategic
Organizational Solutions consultants have a wealth of knowledge and experience
with adult training methods and techniques including
the use of case studies, role playing, small group
discussion and facilitation, simulations and direct
lecture presentations.
Team building sessions
are customized to
the needs of the team in question, based on the data
collected in the diagnostic phase and the goals
of management and the team.
Our consultants will work with you to determine the
objectives you wish to accomplish as well as the
duration of training. Typically, team building training involves
discussions of team processes and stages of team
development, as well as role negotiations.
Other components that may be incorporated in
the team building session include: exercises in
communication, managing conflict, and feedback. Sessions also generally involve presentation and discussion
of diagnostic data.
Outdoor
Adventure Based Training
The
ability to overcome challenge as a group can be a
pivotal characteristic that can propel your organization
towards its goals. Our certified ropes course
instructors will guide your corporate team through a
series of low, mid, and high level exercises designed to
challenge your team to find what it takes to overcome
difficult obstacles. Your team will progress
through ground level icebreakers and physical barriers
and ultimately onto our high (forty feet) level
obstacles; the cat walk, the cable walk, the wall climb,
the slide for life, and more.
