We
often promote our best entry level employees into a
leadership role. Although these candidates are
excellent performers, and show tremendous potential as
management professionals, they may have little actual
experience supervising other employees. New skills
such as delegating, and providing feedback to employees
can be difficult to master using trial and error.
In addition, new managers are faced with new tasks such as hiring
employees and disciplinary actions. These new
duties not only require new task related knowledge, but
also an understanding of employment law, discrimination,
and harassment.
The
Leading Edge Seminar provides the leader with insight into their strengths
and weaknesses using self assessment tools and upward
feedback. Self-Assessment
data can be collected prior to
training delivery through the use of paper and pencil
surveys, or our online web surveys.
Our consultants extensively utilize
both off-the-shelf instruments, such as the Myers
Briggs Type Indicator, and the 16PF, as well as custom
designed questionnaires. Once training is
completed employee upward feedback is utilized to
provide a measure of training effectiveness, and
guide the young professional in utilizing his or her new
skills.
Leading Edge Seminars are conducted over a full training day on-site
at your organization. The seminar is
modular in design and can be modified to meet your
organization's needs.
